Faith healers and alternative medicine practitioners misuse and distort the real knowledge, language, and concepts that science has given us. Their practices, entirely unencumbered by a need for evidence, form a multimillion dollar industry that might indeed be nothing more than social parasitism advanced by the placebo effect.
