This is me - I'm the one with the net, pointing skyward, watching tomorrow unfold.
I'm standing in a restored wetland roughly 20 feet from where 4-lane highway will eventually more completely fragment the largest remaining contiguous tracts of what was once an enormous wetland complex.
This is me. I started working on protecting this wetland about a quarter of a century ago. The politics nearly burned me alive. I stepped away, then I ran, then I hid. The mega-road is perpetually an influx of funding away from being built.
This is me. I wasn't there to talk about asphalt, transportation, or even mitigation plans. I was there to talk bugs.
