Ok. 

So we're 6 days into this 15 day holiday and I'm absolutely positive the house is shrinking!   Multiple ADHD times 4 and then put us in a confined space....     

There are half started projects from one end of our ranch-style to the other - puzzles, blanket forts, snow clothes, stuffed animals, dolls, videos.    There's sound warfare - TV versus electric guitar versus Miley Cyrus versus pet chicken and dog.  Every now and then I throw a fit and demand my share of the soundwaves - ahh precious silence for an hour or so....punctuated by 2 teens bickering.  And then there's the dishes  and the cooking - my god! 

You know all the people who keep schools going  - bus drivers, custodians, lunch ladies, playground monitors, teachers, librarians.....     I wish some of them would come live with us during winter break.  Summer break isn't as intense because there's enough time to build up a schedule and we can go outside.   But winter break... yikes!  

 When I was a kid my parents both had Christmas off.  That's it.  One day.  I entertained myself or I went to Grandma's.  Either way there was just me and Grandma so it was easier - I went home at the end of the day.  

Ah well...  It's apples and oranges.  I think I'll go make some of my Grandmother's oatmeal bread - a good long project in the center of the house with food at the end of the tunnel.
